COVID-19: Status of the coronavirus outbreak in North Carolina

The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services along with the Department of Public Safety's Division of Emergency Management provided the Council of State Tuesday with a status report of the coronavirus outbreak in North Carolina. The leaders were also told state government has ordered $46 million worth of medical supplies -- particularly personal protective gear for medical personnel, according to Emergency Management Director Mike Sprayberry. The personal protective gear hospitals have been seeking has been in critically short supply -- as they get ready for an expected surge of patients.
