A sign in the Raleigh Convention Center has a misspelling.

Some signs near elevators may prompt double-takes from visitors at the newly opened Raleigh Convention Center.

In the standard caution against using elevators during a fire, the word "emergency" is spelled without the "g."

The convention center, which opened Sept. 5, was the culmination of nine years of planning and construction at a cost of more than $200 million.

A city spokeswoman said Monday that the company that made the signs had agreed to replace the faulty signs with new ones soon.
