Contractor cited for carrying WWII-era ordnance on Fort Bragg

A contractor has been cited for carrying three World War II-era bazooka-type mortar rounds on Fort Bragg, authorities said Friday.

Ruben Silvas was cited for possessing military munitions after security officers on post found the mortars in the trunk of his vehicle on Tuesday.

Members of the 722nd Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company responded and cleared the scene of the munitions. The EOD later determined that the mortars weren't live rounds.
