7-Day Forecast

After weeks of warm, dry weather, high school football games in the area could be in trouble this week.

Already this week, areas in central North Carolina have seen up to six inches of rain. The Raleigh-Durham International Airport recorded about three inches of rain through Monday, meaning area fields are already soggy.

More rain is expected this week.

After a clear day on Tuesday, moisture is expected to move back into the area on Wednesday. Rain will develop from east to west during the day, and once it starts, it probably won't stop until Friday.

Thursday is expected to be a washout with rain all day long. With some area games scheduled for Thursday night, there could be some game changes. All three of the Cap Seven Conference games are slated for Thursday night at 7 p.m.

Rain may linger into Friday, but eyes will turn to the tropics. Tropical Depression Sixteen formed south of Cuba on Tuesday morning and is forecast to move north and east over the next few days, crossing Cuba and Florida before moving into the Atlantic Ocean.

The forecast track has the storm off the coast of South Carolina on Thursday morning as a tropical storm.

If there are any game changes or postponements this week HighSchoolOT.com will have them covered for you.
