Line of storms to usher in fall-like weather in NC
A front moving across North Carolina will bring a line of thunderstorms to the Triangle Wednesday afternoon, but once the rain ends, comfortable fall-like weather will settle in for several days.
Central North Carolina is in a Level 2 category (out of 5) for severe weather, but WRAL meteorologist Nate Johnson said the storms will be more like a line of storms that passed through the area late Tuesday than the system that brought hail and high winds to the region last Friday.
WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said the best chance for an isolated tornado would be east of Interstate 95, and that the rain will be out of the way by about 8 p.m.
Once the storms move out, temperatures are expected to remain even cooler and dry for the remainder of the week.
"Thursday looks really nice," WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said. "It will be cooler and much less humid."
Rain could be seen in the area again on Monday, based on Hurricane Irma's projected path.
