Clinic offering free dental care in Fayetteville

Fayetteville residents in need of free dental care will have access to a mobile clinic this weekend.

The North Carolina Dental Social Foundation Missions of Mercy, also known as MOM, is offering free dental care Friday and Saturday as part of their statewide outreach effort.

While in Fayetteville, MOM will provide an 80-chair full dental clinic that will include a full array of dental services, including X-rays, sterilization, dental hygienists, dental assistants, laboratory technicians, health professionals and trained volunteers from around the state, according to their website.

On its website, MOM said more than 35 percent of North Carolina children enter kindergarten with some degree of tooth decay and statewide 21 percent of adults above the age of 65 have lost all their teeth.

The clinic will be at Crown Arena on 1960 Coliseum Drive through Saturday.

MOM is also looking for additional volunteers at their clinics so they can make free healthcare for others possible. Volunteers can register onsite at the clinic.
