The Wake Forest Demon Deacons have their first in-state football commit in the class of 2024. Josh Harrison, a 3-star edge rusher at Christ School in Arden, North Carolina. The news of Harrison's commitment comes not too long after his teammate Khalil Conley pledged to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Harrison made his announcement to his Twitter account. He attended the Demon Deacons' first spring practice, which occurred today.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound edge rusher chose Wake Forest over offers from the likes of Western Carolina University, Appalachian State University, the University of Missouri, Miami University (Ohio), South Carolina State University, Jackson State University, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, James Madison University, Old Dominion University, Georgia Southern University, Georgia State University, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and Coastal Carolina University.

Harrison is considered a 3-star prospect by 247Sports, On3, and Rivals. On3 has Harrison ranked as the No. 23 rising senior prospect in the state. 247 and Rivals are a few spots lower on him. Harrison is newer to the game of football. He was primarily a basketball player growing up.

In 2022, Harrison was credited with 58 tackles, 14 tackles for a loss, 11 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and a pass breakup. He helped Christ School to a 6-6 overall record.
