Chatham County Animal Resources is auctioning off a male potbelly pig on July 13.

Officials said the pig is domesticated, mostly black in color with white hooves, has a a white tip tail and a white belly. His ear has a bit of scarring on it, officials said.

The pig is not available for adoption due to a North Carolina law that says livestock -- like sheep, goats, llamas and swine -- can not be adopted.

But, he "is in need of a home and will make a great pet."
