Chase & crash puts speeding driver in the hospital, Highway Patrol says

A person is in the hospital Wednesday night after authorities say they crashed their car following a high-speed chase in Raleigh.

According to the State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on I-540 near Buffaloe Road.

Highway Patrol said the suspect was driving over 90 mph when the chase started. The suspect then ran off the road and into the trees.

Authorities took the suspect into custody and took him to the hospital for treatment.

There is no word on the suspect’s condition.
