Charlotte first to offer Asheville safety Kareem Williams

It is the first offer for the junior safety.

Asheville High School junior defensive back Kareem Williams as picked up his first verbal scholarship offer. Williams reported an offer from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte's football program on Wednesday.

The class of 2025 safety is listed at 6-foot-3 and 170 pounds.

In the 203 season, Williams finished second on the team in total tackles with 54. That number included five tackles for a loss and a sack. Williams intercepted two passes, forced two fumbles, and blocked a field goal attempt. He returned one of the interceptions for a touchdown. On offense, Williams had three receptions for 4 yards. As a sophomore, Williams was credited with 22 total tackles.

The Cougars finished the 2023 season with a 5-6 overall record. Asheville made the N.C. High School Athletic Association's 4A West playoffs but lost in the first round on the road at Hough.
