A Raleigh woman was arrested Thursday, charged with lying about a car accident in an insurance claim, Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin said.

Sonia Renee Baker, 39, of 1108 Beverly Drive, is charged with one count each of insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense. She is accused of making a false claim that an automobile accident cost her seven days of work and seeking $728.00 from State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company.

Baker was being held at the Wake County jail on $10,000 unsecured bond.

In Durham, Calvin Fennaye Norman, 55, of 1000 Sedgefield St., faces those same charges for what investigators say was misinformation be made in a vehicle damage claim in December 2014.

Norman's bond was set at $5,000
