Charge: North Johnston teacher gave alcohol to teens

A woman who resigned from her teaching position at North Johnston Middle School last week faces charges she provided alcohol to teenagers, according to the Johnston County Sheriff's Office.

Kimberly Bailey Ward, 40, of 40 Crestline Drive in Selma, provided alcohol to at least six teens, including one as young as 13, arrest warrants indicate.

Terri Sessoms, spokeswoman for Johnston County schools, said Ward resigned Feb. 8 and the school system is cooperating with the sheriff's office.
