Sunday, Sept, 8. is Grandparent's Day. And GoTriangle is marking the day—and celebrating its new free fares for those 65 and up—by highlighting all the family-friendly places and events you can go to by riding the bus this Sunday.

Kids 12 and under already can ride the bus for free across the Triangle. And, last year, local bus systems launched the free Youth Pass for kids ages 13 to 18.

Starting Aug. 4, all customers 65 and up also became eligible to ride GoTriangle routes for free. All they need to do is show a photo ID with a birth date.

So now, on Grandparent's Day, grandparents can treat their grandkids to a fun day out—and get to wherever they are going on the bus for free.

The family fun activities this Sunday include Downtown Cary Food & Flea, City Market Honeyfest in Raleigh. Taste of Soul NC in Durham and the GeekCraft Expo RDU in Durham. If you go, GoTriangle's website tells you how to get to these events and others by the bus.
