'Celebrate 75': Museum of Life and Science to offer discounted admission on Saturday

As part of the Museum of Life and Science's 75th anniversary, it is offering a reduced admission rate of $7.50 per person.

As part of its 75th anniversary celebration this year, the Museum of Life and Science is offering a reduced admission rate of $7.50 per person on Saturday.

The museum is planing several activities for its "Celebrate 75" event:

  • Cockroach races and insect handling in the Magic Wings Butterfly House
  • Q&A opportunities with our Animal Care Team Members
  • Giveaways and activities from Book Harvest
  • Ask an expert from the NC Botanical Garden, plus take home a seed pack of their 2022 Wildflower of the Year
  • Hands-on activities in The Lab and TinkerLab
  • Touch-a-Truck from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. with the Durham Fire Department and their mascot, Sparky
  • Explore the Durham County Bookmobile from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Red Wolf Coalition at the Red Wolf habitat from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Sunny skies and warm temperatures are forecasted for Saturday.

In the last 75 years, the Museum has welcomed more than 5 million visitors. Hundreds of thousands of students have visited the Museum of Life and Science on field trips. The 84-acre campus has also hosted thousands of weddings, proms, birthdays and reunions.

As an Association of Zoos and Aquariums-accredited zoo committed to wildlife conservation, the museum is home to rescued black bears, lemurs, endangered red wolves and more than 60 species of live animals. It is a member of the Red Wolf Species Survival Plan.
