Witness video shared with WRAL News shows the moment deputies stopped a speeding car and arrested the driver.

Around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, a deputy with the Wake County Sheriff’s Office tried to stop an Infiniti speeding in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 near Poole Road in Raleigh.

When the driver didn't stop, the deputy followed the car on I-40, according to the sheriff's office. Video captured by a witness who pulled over to record the incident shows deputies arrest the driver at a red light after the driver took the Hammond Road exit.

The video begins with sirens and shows a deputy stop the car and approach it, shouting at the driver to "put your hands up."

The driver, Mary Katherine Land, 21, was charged with one count of felony speeding to elude, reckless driving to endanger and felony possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, among other charges.

According to deputies, Land had an outstanding warrant in Morrisville for felony flee to elude arrest.

An investigation is ongoing.
