A Cary man facing charges is accused of bringing a pistol to North Carolina State University on Monday and waving the gun in the air on Hillsborough Street.
A spokesperson from N.C. State said, around 12:15 a.m., police received a report of a man waving a handgun in the air near the Chipotle on Hillsborough Street. N.C. State police later took the man into custody on Dan Allen Drive and removed the handgun.

Zachary Olson, 24, was charged with felony carrying a gun on educational property and misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon after bringing a Ruger Max-9 pistol on campus, according to an arrest warrant.
Olson appeared in court Monday afternoon, where he was given a $10,000 bond.
According to the state's testimony, Olson approached two women on Hillsborough Street after midnight on Monday, asking for help finding the "rape-iest" fraternity.
Olson told the women he was feeling the pain of sexual assault victims and that he was "misguided and stupid" but that he wanted to get "vigilante justice," according to the state. Olson said he had also burned himself with matches to also experience pain of sexual assault victims.
"He said he was [going to] teach them a lesson and waived a gun," a prosecutor said Monday in court.
Olson walked away, toward fraternity houses, and the women called 911.
According to state prosecutors, Olson had just purchased the gun on Sunday and had ammunition in his car.
Olson, a law student at Campbell University, worked at the Wake County District Attorney's Office but is no longer employed there, according to Wake County District Attorney Lorrin Freeman.
The university confirmed he was not an N.C. State student or employee of the university.
