The Cary Fire Department responded to a house fire in a neighborhood not far from High House Road in Cary on Saturday morning.

At 11 a.m., firefighters received a call about a house fire in the 900 block of Ravendale Place.

The homeowner said he noticed the smell of smoke and heard the home's smoke detectors go off after a power surge caused the power to flicker throughout the house.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and were able to quickly extinguish the flames that had started on the first floor of the two-story house.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, as the homeowner was able to safely exit the home before the arrival of the fire department. However, the homeowner and his wife, who was not home at the time, have been displaced due to the damage caused by the fire.

No other homes or structures were affected.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and fire investigators have just started their investigation, which could take several days to complete. No further details are available at this time.
