Cary bank robber flees on bike

The man held up the First Citizens Bank at 1000 High House Road at about 3 p.m. and was last seen riding a teal or turquoise 10-speed north on Cary Parkway.

A surveillance camera at First Citizens Bank in Cary captured this image of a man wanted in connection with a bank robbery there.

Cary police are asking for the public's assistance in finding a man who robbed a bank Monday and fled the scene on a bicycle.

The thief robbed the First Citizens Bank at 1000 High House Road at about 3 p.m., police said, and was last seen riding a teal or turquoise 10-speed bicycle north on Cary Parkway.

The man is white and was described as being about 40 years old with salt-and-pepper hair and about 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a white hoodie and white pants.

Anyone with information about the assailant is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 919-226-CRIME or the Cary Police Department at 919-469-4016.

Crime Stoppers pays up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest or indictment of those responsible for committing certain types of crimes. All calls will be kept confidential at the caller's request.
