UPDATE: Just before noon, Friday, Marbles emailed me to let me know that this event has been canceled.

Yep! It's true. Frontier Airlines really is going to be giving out hundreds of free flights at a special event at Marbles Kids Museum on Saturday, April 27.

The airline is partnering with Marbles to promote the direct flights that it has at Raleigh Durham International Airport, Sarah Brown, Marbles' marketing director tells me.

The activities are noon to 3 p.m., Saturday, at the downtown Raleigh museum. There will be face painting, balloon artists, games, carnival food and, of course, a chance to win those tickets.

Marbles also will be open on Saturday if you want to play too. (Admission is $7.)

But there's a big note: It's a big weekend at Marbles, so be prepared for a different schedule and some crowds.

The museum will be closing early at 3 p.m., Saturday, to prepare for its annual fundraiser, the Imagination Ball.

And it's opening weekend for "Avengers: Endgame," which also will be playing at the IMAX. Some screenings already are sold out.

Frontier Airlines has been catering to families in recent months. In January, it rolled out a deal that lets kids ages 14 and under fly for free with an adult through the budget airline's existing Discount Den travel club. (To join the Discount Den and take advantage of the kids fly free deal, you'll need to pay a $59.99 per year fee, which will be renewed for additional one-year terms unless you cancel the membership by a certain date.)
