Three Camp Lejeune Marines are facing felony assault charges

Three Camp Lejeune Marines are facing assault charges after a fight, according to arrest warrants dated Monday.

Lance Corporals Evan Charles Chicoine, 22, and Jake Nicholas Schoettle, 24, and Cpl. Angelo Mario Reyes-Lozano, 23, were all charged with felony assault causing serious bodily injury, misdemeanor injury to personal property and misdemeanor intoxicated and disruptive behavior.

All men are stationed at Camp Lejeune, members of the 2nd Maintenance Battalion, a subordinate unit of 2nd Marine Logstics Group, according to the military.

Each was being held at the Wake County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.

Officials told WRAL News the fight started outside in the 600 block Glenwood Avenue. The men allegedly threw a man Amha Shiferaw into a street sign, officials said. Shiferaw received was treated early Monday for lacerations to the head and an eye injury.

Family members said he was in good condition on Monday.
