Butner police are investigating a shooting at a Wendy's restaurant on Tuesday that left a 20-year-old man in critical condition.

The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. at 1546 NC Highway 56 Creednoor.

Police found no victims or suspects at the scene, but later learned that a fight had taken place in the parking lot, resulting in shots being fired between two parties.

During an investigation is was discovered fight took pace in the parking lot resulting in shots being fired between two parties.

A local hospital notified Butner Public Safety that a victim had arrived in the emergency room in a personal vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds.

The vehicle was involved in the incident at Wendy's.

A 20-year-old man is in surgery and is in critical condition.

Trevon Swann, 19, turned himself in to Butner Public Safety and was arrested in connection with the shooting.

He has been charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and one count of going armed to the terror of the public.

Roberto Baltazar, a manager at a Taco Bell near the shooting, said he heard several gunshots.

"The only thing I hear was a whole bunch of gunshots, like maybe, I don't know, like I would say like 5 or 7," Baltazar said. "I saw my team members, working the drive through, start yelling, saying, gunshots, gunshots."

After ordering everyone to stay away from the window and take cover, Baltazar locked the doors and told the assistant manager to call the police.

"My biggest fear is someone getting hurt," Baltazar said. "I don't want anyone to get shot."
