A Wilson County school bus driver was charged Tuesday in connection with a wreck on Wiggins Mill Road in Lucama.

The state Highway Patrol said the bus driver failed to yield to a SUV when pulling out of Springfield Middle School's driveway.

The bus had 50 students on board when the crash happened at about 3 p.m., troopers said.

Troopers said a passenger in the SUV suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene. No one on the bus was injured.

Students were put on another bus and taken home.

Wiggins Mill Road was shut down in the area for about 45 minutes after the collision.

The bus driver, whose name was not released, was charged with a yield violation, troopers said.
