'Back to the Future,' 'And Juliet' lead DPAC upcoming Broadway season lineup

Durham, get ready to be swept away by the magic of Broadway. Truist Broadway at DPAC's electrifying 2024/2025 season is here, featuring eight incredible productions, including the hottest hits like Back To The Future, Juliet and more.

The schedule for the upcoming season was announced Saturday night:

• Clue (Sept. 3-8, 2024) - Murder and mayhem at Boddy Manor! Six guests, one deadly secret. Whodunnit? ️‍Based on the hit 1985 film and classic board game, Clue is a hilarious whodunit that keeps you guessing till the end.
• And Juliet (Oct. 1-6, 2024) -Forget Romeo, Juliet chooses self-love in a hilarious musical powered by pop hits! Find out what happens next with anthems like "Roar" & "Baby One More Time." Ditch the balcony scene, this is a rom-com for the ages! Don't miss it!
• A Beautiful Noise (Jan. 7-12, 2025) -A Beautiful Noise tells the inspiring journey of how a young Neil Diamond became a chart-topping legend. Featuring all the hits – "America," "Sweet Caroline," and more – this electrifying musical is like Jersey Boys meets Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.
• Shucked (March 4-9, 2025) -Tony-winning laughs? You bet! Shucked is a hilarious musical bursting with award-winning talent. Don't miss this "flat out hilarious" (WSJ) corn-fed adventure.
• Kimberly Akimbo (April 29 – May 4, 2025) -This award-winning musical tackles life's twists with heart and humor. Join Kim, a 16-year-old with a rare condition, as she faces family drama, crushes, and maybe even jail time! Don't miss this "howlingly funny heartbreaker" (The New Yorker) with music by Fun Home's composer and choreography from Dear Evan Hansen.
• Back To The Future: The Musical (May 20-25, 2025) - Travel back to 1955 with Marty McFly in this Olivier Award-winning musical. Featuring original music by Avengers & MJ songwriters, plus classic hits like "The Power of Love" & "Johnny B. Goode," this electrifying show is a must-see for fans of the iconic film.
• Some Like It Hot (June 17-22, 2025) -This "super-sized" show is a hilarious, song-and-dance adventure set in Prohibition-era Chicago. Two musicians on the run join an all-girl band for a cross-country trip filled with gangsters, romance, and laughter.
• The Wiz (Aug. 5-10, 2025) -40 years later, this iconic soul musical reimagines Dorothy's Oz with a contemporary twist. Prepare for gospel, rock, funk, and a powerful journey of self-discovery.
