Body found of 14-year-old boy thrown from boat during crash at Buckhorn Reservoir

The body of a 14-year-old ejected from a boat during a crash at Buckhorn Reservoir was found on Monday morning.

Wilson Police Department said the boy was pronounced dead upon discovery. Police did not release any additional information about the teenager.

Police were called just after 10 a.m. on Sunday for a boating accident. Wilson Fire/Rescue, several volunteer fire departments and law enforcement agencies assisted in the search for the teenager.

Several different agencies are investigating the details surrounding the crash, police said.

Buckhorn Reservoir has been reopened to the public.
