Body found at McDonald's near Crabtree Valley Mall

A body was found Saturday at the McDonald's near Crabtree Valley Mall.

Police confirmed they are investigating a death at the McDonald's at 4121 Blue Ridge Rd. next to the Crabtree Valley Mall.

One resident, a cyclist identified as Timothy, said he was very surprised the body was found in the area since crime is low around the mall.

"Generally, it's pretty safe," he said. "[I] don't really run into problems with anybody around here, so it was very surprising to me."

When asked if it would affect how frequently he rides on the trail nearby, he said it wouldn't.

Police said they are not seeking a suspect at this time.
