Billy Graham exhibit set to open at Washington, D.C. museum
The Bible Museum in Washington, D.C. has opened a new exhibit looking at the life of Rev. Billy Graham and the ways he incorporated radio and television into his ministry.
Graham, who some called “America’s preacher,” died in February at his home in Montreat at age 99.
The exhibition will include artifacts from Graham’s life, including original pulpits he used during his first and last crusades, sermon notes, personal bibles and original movie posters from his film production company.
One of the focuses of the exhibition is on how Graham used TV, radio and motion pictures to spread his message.
“The way that he incorporated television, radio and even movies to use those to convey his message, his Biblical message, and the way he understood it, to even more people around the world is something that really endeared him to a lot of people,” said the museum’s associate curator David Anthony Schmidt.
The exhibit opens to the public next weekend and runs through Jan. 27, 2019.
