Free things to do in Raleigh
Sometimes, finding a way to keep the whole family entertained can be costly. However, Raleigh offers a number of free activities that are perfect for a day of family fun. Below are places to check out to keep the family flowing with no cost to you.

North Carolina Museum of Art
Experience the beauty of art and nature at the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh. The museum— which offers free admission — boasts an extensive collection spanning thousands of years, including European masterpieces, African and American art, and contemporary works. Visitors can also explore the stunning Museum Park, which features impressive outdoor sculptures and walking trails.

North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences
Located in downtown Raleigh, the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences offers free general admission and features numerous interactive exhibits showcasing dinosaurs, wildlife, ecosystems, and more both permanently and with special exhibitions. Pullen Park
This historic Pullen Park, opened in 1887, offers free admission and provides endless fun for children. Park goers can enjoy walks around the lake, a ride on the restored carousel for a small fee, or take a mini-train ride through the park. The park is also filled with playgrounds, picnic areas, and paddle boats are available to plan your own family outing.

Spraygrounds
If you’re looking for an easy and affordable way to get out of the heat, consider checking out one of Raleigh’s many free or low-cost spraygrounds including:

- Moore Square Splash Pad – 201 S. Blount St.
Greystone Recreation Center
The 9,600-square-foot indoor Greystone Recreation Center features an indoor play area suitable for those ages 5-12, an 8-foot traverse rock climbing wall, a dance and fitness studio, as well as meeting rooms and classrooms.
