Baseball Rankings: Major changes to statewide Top 25 after wild spring break
Spring break baseball tournaments always provide some statewide shakeups and this year was no different. Two Top 5 teams lost last week: No. 2 J.H. Rose, which fell to No. 6 after losing to new No. 5 T.C. Roberson, and No. 5 Wesleyan Christian, which dropped out after losing to unranked Greensboro Day.
Previous Top 10 teams Reagan and Charlotte Christian also suffered losses that dropped them out of the rankings entirely.
West Henderson, Greene Central, Wake Forest, and R-S Central jumped up into the Top 10 this week.
Rankings reminders:
- Rankings are updated weekly and released on Monday
- All high schools in the state of North Carolina, excluding athletic training academies, are eligible for the statewide top 25
- There is a separate top 15 for the state's six area codes that is also updated weekly
- Rankings are paused during the N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs
- Final rankings are released the week after the state championships
