Band Together and United Way of the Triangle on Tuesday announced Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit will headline its 2023 Mighty Giveback benefit concert at Red Hat Amphitheater.

The Oct. 7 concert aims to raise more than $1 million for Triangle nonprofits focused on helping people find accessible and affordable housing. Last year's concert raised more than $1 million for nonprofits like Habitat for Humanity, Hope Renovations and Passage Home.

The 2023 Mighty Giveback concert will benefit 20 nonprofit organizations, including all 11 of last year’s beneficiaries.

Nora Spencer, founder and CEO of Hope Renovations, said last year's concert was one of her organization's biggest sources of funding.

"It increased our capacity to help people preserve their homes and neighborhoods through our repair and renovation work," Spencer said. "Our safe and happy senior clients are proof that this partnership is truly moving the needle on affordable housing."

Jason Isbell is a four-time Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter from Alabama who joined forces with The 400 Unit for a rock'n'roll experience. This year's show will also feature food trucks, drinks, games and cultural festivities.

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 24, at 10 a.m. Lawn seats start at $35.50.

“We know that housing is a key lever for reducing poverty. Having a safe and affordable home frees up time that families can use to support their children’s education, ensure they have enough healthy food to eat every day, and begin building toward a life of social mobility,” said Eric Guckian, United Way of the Greater Triangle’s President and CEO.

Sponsors for the event are still needed. Interested individuals and corporations can email Hannah Parker, Band Together's program director, at hannah@bandtogethernc.org.
