Back to School: Get first day details, school calendars for region's school systems

The first day of school is hard to pinpoint around here with year-round and modified year-round school calendars, along with dozens of private and charter schools, which all open on different dates.

But the majority of kids have one more weekend between them and the first day of school. On Monday, Aug. 28, most kids in the region will be cracking open the books again.

Here's a list of county and city districts in the region, along with first day of school dates for the 2017-18 school year and links to the school system's calendar. Now is a great time to check those school calendars to note early release days, teacher workdays and vacation days.
