The North Carolina Department of Transportation is warning residents about an email scam connected to NC Quick Pass tolls.

NCDOT said Friday that customers in several states, including North Carolina, have reported receiving fraudulent emails requesting that they pay an outstanding toll balance. The emails include a link directing customers to an invoice or payment portal.

“NC Quick Pass will never request payment via email, and users should verify the authenticity of any sender before clicking a link,” NCDOT said in a statement.

Anyone with questions or concerns may call the NC Quick Pass Customer Service Center during business hours at 1-877-769-7277 or visit the website.
