A police car blocked off the corner of Dartmouth and Briarcreek Place Friday afternoon in Fayetteville.

Authorities in Fayetteville said Friday they are investigating the death of a woman found inside a house Thursday.

Fayetteville police, the U.S. Army and the FBI set up a command center outside of 2821 Briarcreek Place Friday. Property records show six people live at that address.

Authorities only said the woman was a former Department of Defense employee and that the case had been labeled a death investigation. They declined to comment further.
