Kevin Henkes, the beloved author of all kinds of very popular children's books, will stop at Quail Ridge Books & Music in Raleigh next week with his latest - a picture book for younger readers.

Henkes will visit Quail Ridge at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 14. He'll bring his new book "Penny and Her Song" (Harper Collins, $12.99). It's best for ages 4 and up.

"Penny joins Kevin's wonderful mouse creations," writes Quail Ridge's children's staff. "This chapter book for young readers captures the enthusiasm of a young mouse eager to share the new song she's learned. Now if her audience can only sit still!"

Next week's event is a signing line ticket event, which means you get a ticket for the signing line if you purchase "Penny and Her Song" at Quail Ridge.

Quail Ridge has two other author events for kids next week.

Shana Corey visits at 4;30 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, with her book "Here Come the Girl Scouts! The Amazing All-True Story of Juliette "Daisy" Gordon Low and Her Great Adventure." The book is best for ages 5 and up.

And Ally Carter and Rachel Hawkins, both young adult authors, will stop in for an event at 3 p.m., March 17.
