Asheville High School rising senior defensive back Kareem Williams committed to play at Coastal Carolina University on Saturday afternoon. He is the first class of 2025 prospect from North Carolina to commit to the South Carolina school.

Williams also had an offer from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs.

He is a big safety at 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds.

Williams finished second on Asheville's 2023 team in total tackles with 54. He had five tackles for a loss and a sack. The class of 2025 prospect also intercepted two passes, forced two fumbles, and blocked a field goal attempt. One of the interceptions was returned for a touchdown.
