Apex police searching for 89-year-old man

Apex police are searching for an 89-year-old man believed to be suffering from a cognitive impairment.

John Thomas Smith, 89, was last seen on Licorice Drive in Apex.

Smith is described as a bald Black man with brown eyes. He stands 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a white T-shirt, camouflage pants and black and brown boots.

He may be in a 2012 brown Buick Enclave with North Carolina license plate VAP-8285.
