Officers with the Apex Police Department said Tuesday that they arrested two people and charged them both with multiple drug trafficking, weapons and child abuse offenses.

Phillip Arrington, 28, and Mercedes Cooper, 22, both of Holly Springs, were arrested and charged last week with possession of a firearm by a felon, misdemeanor child abuse, possession with intent to sell, manufacture or distribute controlled substances, manufacturing marijuana, sale and delivery of marijuana, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Apex police seized 281 grams of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) wax, 5.3 pounds of marijuana, $5,968 in cash and three firearms.

Cooper and Arrington were each given a $25,000 secured bond.

Credits
