Another stormy week? Likely, but not the whole time

The sun finally made an appearance Sunday afternoon in the Triangle, but wet weather isn't ready to leave the region just yet.

WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said showers remain possible overnight Sunday and Monday morning will start out cloudy before more rain falls during the afternoon and evening hours.

"Due to the nature of them being slow moving and the atmosphere still being full of moisture, these could produce downpours," Maze said of Monday's showers. "Be on the lookout for the afternoon and evening commute."

Things will dry out on Tuesday, with only a 20 percent chance of rain and, although a front could bring more wet weather to the Triangle on Wednesday, the end of the work week will be dry and warm with significantly lower humidity.

"If you're searching for some dryer weather, it would be Tuesday, Thursday and Friday," Maze said.

The chance for rain creeps back up for the holiday weekend on Saturday and Sunday, Maze said.
