A second man has been charged with bringing a gun onto North Carolina State University's campus.

Marvin Louis Spruill, 38, was charged Monday with misdemeanor bringing a gun on educational property and misdemeanor carrying a concealed gun.

According to an arrest warrant, Spruill had a 9 mm gun outside of student housing on Greek Village Drive.

Spruill was released from jail on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 11 at 7:45 a.m.

A day earlier, Adam Mahmoud Sulaiman, 19, of Apex, an N.C. State student, was charged after police found a loaded AR-15-style rifle in his car Sunday on campus.

Sulaiman appeared in court Monday afternoon. His father told WRAL News Sulaiman is a responsible gun owner and the rifle on campus was a misunderstanding, but students said it makes them worry, especially in the wake of recent school shootings, including the shooting at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in August.

"I'm very glad someone did say something and bring it up [despite] the circumstance," a sophomore told WRAL News after Sulaiman's arrest. "You don't know why it's in there until you talk to the guy."
