A 59-year-old Raleigh woman died Friday night in Garner after an Amtrak train hit her car on tracks near Vandora Springs Road, Garner police said.

According to investigators, Robin Downes Mozafaripour's Kia got stuck on the tracks at about 9:45 p.m. after she turned right onto Vandora Springs Road from Garner Road.

When the train hit Mozafaripour's car, it pushed it several feet, a witness said. The witness said she saw Mozafaripour put the car in reverse and try to rock it back and forth.

Train 91, the Silver Star, was southbound for Miami carrying about 200 passengers and crew, an Amtrak spokesman said.

No one on board was injured. The train resumed its journey at about 11:30 p.m. Its next stop was Raleigh.
