Amber Alert issued for 10-year-old last seen in Charlotte

Authorities issued a statewide Amber Alert for a 10-year-old boy last seen in Charlotte early Sunday evening.

Symiir Issa Speaks is black, stands 4 feet 5 inches tall, weighs about 60 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen shortly before 6 p.m. wearing a gray and yellow shirt, khaki shorts and black and orange shoes.

Authorities believe Symiir is with an unidentified black woman with long hair, and they were last seen in a dark 2001 Chrysler Town & Country mini-van with North Carolina license plate BFA-7821.

Further information was not immediately available, but Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said they believe the boy might be with his mother and that the case might be part of a domestic dispute.

It's unclear where the two might be headed.
