Air fryer recall: Insignia air fryers can overheat, catch fire

Several Insignia air fryers have caught fire, and six different models are now being recalled.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission reports the air fryers and air fryer ovens can overheat, causing the handles to melt, break or catch fire. Glass on the ovens can also overheat and break.

The air fryers were sold mostly through Best Buy.

The model numbers included in this recall are NS-AF34D2, NS-AF5DSS2, NS-AF5MSS2, NS-AF8DBD2, NS-AF10DBK2 and NS-AF10DSS2.

Immediately stop using these air fryers if you have one and contact Insignia for instructions to get a refund.

Insignia is asking you to contact them directly and not to return the air fryers to Best Buy stores.
