Michael Savarino, the grandson of long-time Duke University men's basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski, pleaded guilty this week to driving while impaired and was sentenced to 12 months of probation and 24 hours of community service.

Court documents show Savarino has already completed the community service and attended a victim impact panel. Two other charges โ€“ underage driving after consuming and failure to yield to a stop sign or flashing red light โ€“ were dismissed.

Savarino, who was 20 at the time, was pulled over in November in rural Orange County as he drove a vehicle owned by another then-Duke player, Paolo Banchero.

Banchero has since left the Blue Devils for the NBA, and Savarino transferred to play basketball at NYU.
