Accidental acceleration led to injuries for two people and a citation for a teen driver in Cary Sunday night, police said.

Michael and Patricia Anderson were standing in the KFC/Taco Bell parking lot at 1011 North Harrison Ave. when Geobanni Tyada, 16, hit their vehicle, which rolled into them, according to Sgt. G. L. Huser.

Huser said the teen tried to hit the brakes but hit the gas instead. He was cited for careless and reckless driving.

The Andersons were taken to WakeMed, and Patricia Anderson was listed in serious condition early Monday. Her husband's condition was not available.
