Aberdeen man, 30, faces sex charges

A 30-year-old Aberdeen man was arrested Friday and charged with multiple sex crimes, the Moore County Sheriff's Office said. 

Martin Rubio Alverez, of 165 Heflin Court, is charged with four counts of felony indecent liberties, four counts of felony child abuse, two counts of sexual batter and two counts of assault on a child under 12. 

Alverez was arrested after the Moore County Department of Social Services asked the sheriff's office for assistance with an investigation. 

Aleverez was being held in the Moore County jail Saturday under a $100,000 secured bond. He will make his first court appearance Sept. 16 in Carthage.
