A.C. Reynolds defensive coordinator Bryan Craig named top assistant coach in North Carolina

A.C. Reynolds High School defensive coordinator Bryan Craig has been named the North Carolina recipient of the 2023 High School Broyles Award. The high school award is a spinoff of the original Broyles Award, which commemorates the top assistant coaches in college football. The National College Football Awards Association began the high school awards in 2018.

A.C. Reynolds High School defensive coordinator Bryan Craig has been named the North Carolina recipient of the 2023 High School Broyles Award. The high school award is a spinoff of the original Broyles Award, which commemorates the top assistant coaches in college football.

The National College Football Awards Association began the high school awards in 2018. North Carolina high assistant high school coaches became eligible to win the award in 2022. Shelby defensive line coach Aubrey Hollifield was the state's first assistant winner a year ago.

Craig led an A.C. Reynolds defense that gave up just 11.1 points per game in 2022. The Rockets had an outstanding season with 12 wins to only two losses. According to the stats we can see on MaxPreps, Craig's defense allowed a very low 171.3 yards per game.
