There are so many events coming up this month, including live music, comedy and festivals.

The 37th annual Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival took place in Cary, N.C. on Saturday, August 24, 2013. The crowd enjoyed music, food, arts, and crafts in perfect weather.

There are so many events coming up this month, including live music, comedy and festivals.

Aug. 1-6

Aug. 2: Jay Jurden - See this comedian, actor and Emmy nominated writer on stage at Raleigh Improv.

Aug. 2-13: Theatre Raleigh presents "The Prom" - Four eccentric Broadway stars are in desperate need of a new stage. When they hear that trouble is brewing around a small-town prom, they know that it’s time to put a spotlight on the issue…and themselves. See this show at Theatre Raleigh through Aug. 13.

Aug. 3-5: Carolina Academy of Performing Arts: Between the Lines - The show tells the story of Delilah. New in school, she seeks comfort in the pages of her favorite book, where she feels seen. But as the lines between the two worlds of reality and fantasy begin to blur in extraordinary and astonishing ways, Delilah has to confront whether she alone has the power to rewrite her story. See it on stage at Fletcher Opera Theater.

Aug. 3-5: Ian Bagg - See this Canadian comedian on stage at Raleigh Improv Thursday through Saturday.

Aug. 4: Triangle Vintage Market - Visit 16 vendors from across the triangle selling a wide array of vintage gear at Durty Bull Brewing from noon to 6 p.m.

Aug. 4-5: 15th Annual Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival - This two day event will feature more than 60 beers, 40 bourbons and lots of barbecue at Booth Amphitheatre. Admission tickets include souvenir glasses for you to enjoy all-you-care-to-taste samples of bourbon and beer. Tickets start at $42. Designated driver tickets are $25 and will be sold on-site the day of the event only.

Aug. 4: The Rocket Man Show: Tribute to Elton John - Rus recreates the magic and live persona of a young Elton John during this show at DPAC Friday night.

Aug. 4: Eric Church - The singer brings his "The Outsiders Revival Tour" to Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek.

Aug. 4: August First Friday Market and Movie Night - Pop-up Carolinas and Raleigh Parks will host this outdoor market with food trucks, live entertainment and games on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Moore Square. There will also be a free screening of "The Princesss and the Frog."

Aug. 4: Jason Mraz and his Superband - Mraz brings his "Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride tour" to Red Hat Amphitheater on Friday starting at 7:30 p.m.

Aug. 4: Sir Walter Miler - The 2023 Sir Walter Miler will take place at Meredith College at 8:30 p.m. Friday. Food trucks will be on site and there will be a pre and post race party at Raleigh Brewing Company.

Aug. 5: Hello Kitty Cafe Truck at The Streets at SouthpointThe Hello Kitty Cafe Truck is returning to The Streets at Southpoint. Visit the truck at Cinema Circle from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Aug. 5: Flash Chorus on the Roof - The Flash Chorus Band will teach you how to sing, “Time of the Season” by The Zombies and “That Summer Feeling” by Jonathan Richman on the open-air rooftop at The Durham Hotel. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.

Aug. 5: Taste of Soul NC (Seafood Edition) - Enjoy food from a variety of vendors at Durham Central Park from 3 to 8 p.m.

Aug. 5: Corsets & Cravats: Show What You Wear Fashion Show - Join the attendees of Corsets & Cravats for a show like none other on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the City of Raleigh Museum. Explore costumes of the 19th century and their stories as participants walk the runway. Tickets are $15.

Aug. 5: Family Movie Night: Spider-Man: No Way Home - The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department will host a free screening of the movie "Spider-Man: No Way Home" at Joyner Park on Saturday. Pre-show activities start at 7:30 p.m.

Aug. 5: Slightly Stoopid and Sublime - Slightly Stoopid and Sublime with Rome will play Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek on Saturday.

Aug. 6: Shakey Graves - See the singer on stage at The Ritz.

Aug. 6: Snoop Dog, Wiz Khalifa, Too $hort - Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Too $hort and more bring the H.S. Reunion Tour 2023 to Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek on Sunday.

Aug. 7-13

Aug. 7: Watermelon Day at the Museum of Life and Science - National Watermelon Day is in August and the Museum is hosting a celebration for this sweet summer treat. They will be feeding animals watermelons throughout the day, plus creating some special watermelon-themed enrichment that will be placed in animal exhibits for a variety of animals to enjoy.

Aug. 7: Disturbed: Take Back Your Life Tour - Disturbed comes to Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek.

Aug. 8: Foreigner: The Historic Farewell Tour - Foreigner comes to Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek.

Aug. 8: Lindsey Stirling with special guest Walk Off The Earth - Lindsey Stirling with special guest Walk Off The Earth perform live at Red Hat Amphitheater.

Aug. 9: Parliament Funkadelic featuring George Clinton - Parliament Funkadelic featuring George Clinton perform live at The Ritz.

Aug. 10: Flashback Flicks: A League of Their Own - Enjoy a screening of the film at 8 p.m. at the JB Duke Hotel.

Aug. 10-13: OUTSOUTH Queer Film Festival - OUTSOUTH Queer Film Festival celebrates a worldwide glimpse of today’s LGBTQ+ life, helps bring the community together and features entertaining and sophisticated films and filmmaking. Enjoy screenings at Carolina Theatre of Durham from Aug. 10 to 13.

Aug. 10: Toosii: Naujour Tour - Toosii performs at The Ritz on Aug. 10.

Aug. 11-12: Aries Spears - Aries was a regular on Fox's "Mad TV" and has gone on to appear in a number of films and national talk shows. See him on stage at Raleigh Improv from Friday and Saturday.

Aug. 11: Friday Night on White - Head to White Street in Wake Forest for this free block party with performances form Stone Age Romeos.

Aug. 11: Jason Aldean: Highway Desperado Tour 2023 - The country singer performs at Coastal Credit Music Park at Walnut Creek on Friday.

Aug. 11: Outdoor Movie: Ferris Bueller's Day Off - Raleigh Brewing is hosting our first-ever outdoor movie night on Friday with a screening of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." The movie will begin at dusk. Admission is free.

Aug. 12: 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop Sneaker Ball - Celebrate the history of hip hop music during this event at Raleigh Union Station on Aug. 12. There will be legendary hip hop artists and DJs, drinks and food. Tickets start at $50.

Aug. 12: Dog Days of Summer Party - Gizmo Brew Works hosts this afternoon of entertainment, live music, food and craft beer. The event is from 2 to 9 p.m.

Aug. 12: Geek and Grub Night Market (Anime Edition) - This monthly market at Fred Fletcher Park is from 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12. This month's theme is Anime. Admission is free.

Aug. 12: Made Market: Raleigh - Shop from a variety of local merchants during this event at Market Hall in downtown Raleigh. Tickets are $5 for adults and children ages 15 and younger are admitted for free.

Aug. 12-13: Repticon Raleigh Reptile and Exotic Animals Show - Shope from hundreds of vendors, who specialize in merchandise and supplies for exotic pets. Also shop for a new pet among the hundreds of reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, arachnids and small exotic animals available on site. The event is at the N.C. State Fairgrounds' Exposition Center on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $10 to $12 for adults and $6 for children ages 5 to 12 years old. Those ages 4 years and younger are admitted for free.

Aug. 13: James Gregory - For decades, the unforgettable caricature of veteran comedian James Gregory has stood grinning: his shirt untucked, his arms outstretched, a carefree welcome to a down-home, hilarious comedy experience. It’s storytelling at its best. The trademark caricature is the essence of humorist James Gregory’s comedy: rib-tickling reflections on life from the front porch. See him on stage Aug. 13 at Raleigh Improv.

Aug. 13: Tyler Childers: Send in the Hounds Tour - See the singer on stage with special guest S.G. Goodman at Red Hat Amphitheater on Sunday.

Aug. 14-20

Aug. 14: All-American Rejects - Wet Hot All-American Summer Tour - See the band on stage at Red Hat Amphitheater in downtown Raleigh.

Aug. 15: Brit Floyd - Brit Floyd returns to the stage in 2023 to perform a brand-new production celebrating 50 years of the ground-breaking and iconic musical masterpiece The Dark Side of the Moon. The show will feature classic tracks from the album such as Time, Money, Us and Them, and The Great Gig in the Sky. See them on stage at DPAC.

Aug. 15: 50 Cent: The Final Lap Tour - See 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes and Jeremih on stage at Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek on Aug. 15.

Aug. 17: Flashback Flicks: Jaws - Enjoy a screening of the film at the Washington Duke Inn at 8 p.m.

Aug. 17: AfterHours: Bees, Beer, & Butterflies - Join in at the Museum’s Magic Wings Butterfly House and the Bayer Insectarium for an up-close look into the buzzing world of bees, beer, and butterflies during this 21 and over event at the Museum of Life and Science.

Aug. 18: Friday Family Flicks - The Super Mario Bros. Movie - Head to the Garner Recreation Center for a free screening of the "Super Mario Bros. Movie" at 8:15 p.m.

Aug. 18: Leanne Morgan - After discovering her passion for stand-up comedy later in life and finding the time and confidence to pursue her dream, Leanne Morgan has cemented herself as a must-watch comedian. See her at DPAC on Aug. 18.

Aug. 18-20: Funny Marco - With a massive audience of more than 10 million fans across all social media platforms, this comedian has worked with Spotify, BET, Footaction, and Fashion Nova. See him on stage Friday through Sunday.

Aug. 18: Team Spirit Scavenger Hunt - Get your best game day face and explore N.C. State’s campus during this Search in the City scavenger hunt from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tickets start at $32 for adults. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Aug. 18: That's My Jam! - Mixtape presents this show featuring a battle between the 1980s and 1990s. Mixtape is known for its highly energetic Las Vegas styled shows, that come complete with costumes, props, a stunning light show, and a collage of video content to accompany each song.  SEe them on stage Aug. 18 at Fletcher Opera Theater.

Aug. 18: The NCMA & Cat's Cradle Present: Steep Canyon Rangers - See the band on stage at Joseph M. Bryan Jr. Theater in the Museum Park at the N.C. Museum of Art on Aug. 18. This concert includes American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation. Tickets are $30 for non-museum members.

Aug. 19: 21st Annual Kirby Derby - This year's 21st annual race will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. at Richardson Drive Loop at Tate Drive at Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh. The event includes a soap box derby race, a parade, pinecar min-racers and more.

Aug. 19: Dino Academy - The Museum of Life and Science will be decked out with dino-themed activities and incredible fossils that are sure to make you roar. Join in to explore deep time and follow the development of life on Earth, with prehistoric specimens as well as encounters with living dinosaurs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Aug. 19: Arrival From Sweden - The Music of ABBA - ARRIVAL from Sweden was founded by Vicky Zetterberg in 1995 in Gothenburg, Sweden, and very soon became one of the world’s most popular and most selling ABBA show bands. See them on stage at DPAC.

Aug. 19: Rock the Park Movie: Top Gun: Maverick - Enjoy a free screening of the film at Durham Central Park at 8:30 p.m.

Aug. 19: JCMP Back to School Jamboree at the Park​​​​​​​ - The Raleigh Parks department will host this event at John Chavis Memorial Park on Aug. 19 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event will include free lunch boxes and water bottles, plus yard games, bounce hosues and entertainment.

Aug. 19: CaribMask Carnival ​​​​​​​- The Raleigh-Durham AfroCaribbean-Association presents the 10th Annual CaribMask Carnival Parade and Festival Village in City Plaza starting at noon. The event will feature arts and craft vendors, live entertainment and the CaribMask Kids's Corner.

Aug. 19-20: Body Mind Spirit - Explore the Crystal Labyrinth, shop at hundreds of incredible vendors, readers and healers and enjoy some amazing fresh Jamaican food, tacos and smoothies during this event at the N.C. State Fairgrounds' Exposition Center.

Aug. 19: Pentatonix - The World Tour - The group with special guest Lauren Alaina will perform at Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek.

Aug. 19: Raleigh Retro Gamers Triangle Town Market -  The market will be held on Aug. 19 inside Triangle Town Center. There will be more than 50 gaming and geek vendors on the second floor next to Macy's and in front of Replay Vintage.

Aug. 20: DPS Fest - The Durham community is celebrating the new school year with DPS Fest, presented by DPS Foundation. Join in at Durham Central Park from 3 to 7 p.m. There will be carnival and yard games, slime making, face painting, a photo booth, a bounce house and obstacle course.

Aug. 21-27

Aug. 24: Just Nesh - Most recently, Taneshia was featured on Kevin Hart’s Hart of the City on Comedy Central and the new season of Def comedy Jam. See her on stage at Raleigh Improv.

Aug. 24: Flashback Flicks: Roman Holiday - Enjoy a screening of the film at the JB Duke Hotel at 8 p.m.

Aug. 25-27: Bill Bellamy - Bill Bellamy started doing stand-up while he was a student at Rutgers University. In less than two years, Bellamy earned a spot on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam. You can see him on stage at Raleigh Improv Aug. 25 to 27

Aug. 26: 3 Doors Down - Away from the Sun Anniversary Tour - The band will play Red Hat Amphitheater with special guest Candlebox.

Aug. 26: An Evening With Ariana DeBose - Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose will perform two sold-out shows at Theatre Raleigh.

Aug. 26: Dix Park Inter-Tribal Pow Wow - The community is invited to experience a day of competition dancing, music and vendors showcasing the incredible legacy and culture of Indigenous communities living in North Carolina today. The event will be held Aug. 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Aug. 26-27: Lazy Daze Arts and Crafts Festival - Held the last weekend in August, this Cary festival features nearly 300 artists from 16 states, plus a beer garden, interactive art activities, a children's are and more. The event is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free.

Aug. 26: NC Vintage Bazaar - North Carolina's biggest vintage and thrift convention returns with more than 130 vintage vendors at the Raleigh Convention Center.

Aug. 26: Night Nation Run - Experience a music filled course with live DJs, bubble zones, light shows, neon and black lights at Booth Amphitheatre.

Aug. 26: Packapalooza 2023 - Enjoy this all-day block party and street festival capping off Wolfpack Welcome Week at the start of the academic year. There will be great music, activities throughout the day and fun entertainment for the whole family from 2 to 10 p.m. on Hillsborough Street.

Aug. 26-27: The Secret Garden Soiree Festival (The Ultimate R&B Experience) - Enjoy a magical weekend of R&B, food trucks and vendors at Fred Fletcher Park in Raleigh. Tickets start at $40.

Aug. 27: Erika Council’s Biscuit Tasting, Celebrating Still We Rise - Join Erika Council for the release of her new cookbook, Still We Rise: A Love Letter to the Southern Biscuit. Erika will be in conversation with Bill Smith followed by a small sweet and savory sampling from the cookbook in The Fearrington Barn from 3 to 5 p.m.
