It's almost festival season, and there is a lot happening in March! Here's a guide.

It's almost festival season, and there is a lot happening in March! Here's a guide.

March 1-8

March 1: Balsam Range - See the band at the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts.

March 1-2: NC Symphony's Pink Martini - Pink Martini brings their distinctive style, a captivating fusion of pop, jazz, and classical music, back to the Symphony — with the silky, sultry voice of singer China Forbes featured front and center.

March 1-3: Peter Pan at DPAC - This high-flying Broadway musical kicked off in February and has been thrilling audiences of all ages for close to 70 years and is now being brought back to life in a new adaptation.

March 1-10: UniverSoul Circus - This family-friendly circus kicked off in February and will hold multiple March shows at Coastal Credit Union Music Park at the Walnut Creek Circus Grounds. Tickets are available online.

March 2: Art-n-Soul Market at Waverly Place - Craft booths, music and more in Cary. Linger and converse with the areas best local artisans while enjoying live music on the green.

March 2: MAKRS Society Foodie Fare - This monthly foodie and art market series at Raleigh Iron Works features 30+ local vendors, live music, a mini food truck rodeo and more.

March 2: Say Yes to The Prom Dress: Free prom dress event - Any high school student who could benefit from a free prom dress can "shop" hundreds between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Tarboro Community Center in Raleigh. There will be prizes, music, food, private dressing rooms and feel-good vibes. The event is free, but register online.

March 2: The Market at NCMA: NC Indigenous Artist Festival - Join open studios to create alongside traditional basket weavers, Southeastern gorget makers, and more for the whole family at NCMA.

March 3: March Drag Brunch - This event at Raleigh Beer Garden is an afternoon filled with glamour, laughter and the art of drag - plus brunch!

March 3: Compositions by Her: A Celebration of Women in Music - The Durham Symphony Orchestra presents this concert at the Hayti Heritage Center in honor of Women's History Month.

March 5: Chocolate truffles and wine tasting - Learn how to create truffles with different cocoa profiles and then match them with the perfect wines!

March 7: UNC vs. Duke Pre-Game Extravaganza - Get ready for the ultimate showdown as the UNC Tar Heels get ready to take on the Duke Blue Devils! This event at the Great Hall is branded as an unforgettable evening of live music, entertainment, vendors and pure excitement.

March 7: Ron White - See the renowned comedian at DPAC.

March 8: Godsmack - See the multi-platinum Grammy-nominated hard rock band's "more intimate experience" with untold stories and music at DPAC.

March 8-10: NC Symphony's Rhapsody in Blue - See a favorite in Raleigh.

March 9-15

March 9: Gabriel Iglesias - The comedian brings his Don't Worry, Be Fluffy Tour to PNC Arena.

March 9: Celtic Woman - The 20th anniversary tour comes to DPAC.

March 9: International Woman's Day Expo - This event at the Raleigh Convention Center features inspiring speakers, informative workshops and a wide range of exhibitors showcasing products and services that support women's well-being and women owned businesses.

March 9: Tea with Seagrove Potters - Sample tea and pastries and shop tea ware. There will be gifts with purchase and door prizes.

March 10: Geek and Grub Market - Elevate your gaming saga with themed cosplay, enter realms of competitive fun, and enjoy life-size Inflatable Hungry, Hungry Hippos at Fred Fletcher Park in Raleigh.

March 10: JJ Grey & Mofro - The rock band comes to DPAC.

March 12: Neil deGrasse Tyson - One of America’s most well-known scientists is returning to DPAC with an all-new lecture.

March 13-17: Art in Bloom - Visit the North Carolina Museum of Art for breathtaking, larger-than-life floral arrangements set alongside artwotk. This is the museum's annual fundraiser.

March 13: TESLA - TESLA may have been born in the mid 80s, but their bluesy, soulful sound is strongly embedded in the roots of organic, authentic, 1970s rock and roll. See them at DPAC.

March 14: Tedeschi Trucks Band - The Grammy Award-winning 12-piece rock and soul powerhouse comes to DPAC.

March 14: Chris Knight at Lincoln Theatre - Tickets are available online.

March 15-16: NC Symphony: Totally 80s - The NC Symphony and show-stopping vocalists rewind to the 80s with tunes like “Wake Me Up before You Go-Go,” “Addicted to Love,” “The Final Countdown,” and more!

March 16-22

March 16: Raleigh's St. Patrick's Day Parade - WRAL's Jeff Hogan is the grand marshal of this parade, which kicks off at 10 a.m. on Fayetteville Street. The parade will feature no motorized vehicles.

March 16-17: Raleigh's St. Patrick's Day Bar Crawl - Single and group tickets can be purchased online.

March 16: Shamrock Search Scavenger Hunt - Meet in Moore Square for a competitive scavenger hunt perfect for celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in a family-friendly & fun way! Find all the hidden green shamrocks in downtown Raleigh first to win a basket full of goodies from local businesses.

March 16: Tap Yard's St. Paddy's Day Party - Let the green drinks flow all day long with green beers, irish whiskeys, and hand-crafted cocktails created exclusively for St. Patrick’s Day weekend. There will be live music and BBQ.

March 16: Leprechaun Dash 5K|10K - The event starts and finishes at the Chatham YMCA (287 East St., Pittsboro). Register online.

March 16: Fortune Feimster at DPAC - Through laughter and storytelling, Fortune shows audiences of all ages, backgrounds, and sexual orientations that common ground is only a joke or two away.

March 16: Beyond The Book Children’s Book & Art Festival - This is a free outdoor family celebration at Fred Fletcher Park in Raleigh. Discover author and illustrator workshops, interactive performances, collaborative art installations, creative crafts, talented vendors, artisan food, and inspiring entertainment.

March 16: Ella's Race - This race is held in honor of Ella Newmiller, the daughter of a Raleigh family who passed away in 2012 from a pediatric brain tumor. The event raises money for The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and The Cure Starts Now. The event is held at Chick-fil-A Capital Crossing and Falls Village.

March 17: Ledisi at DPAC - Born in New Orleans and raised in Oakland, California, Ledisi has wowed fans with her unparallelled vocals ever since she burst onto the scene.

March 17: Sports History Trolley Tour - Explore Raleigh’s past, present, and future of sports on the Historic Raleigh Trolley! From horse racing to hockey, this tour will feature sports both professional and amateur as it visits locations still active and those long forgotten. Tickets are $12 per person.

March 18: WWE Monday Night RAW - Be a part of the Road to Wrestlemania LIVE as WWE RAW returns to PNC Arena!

March 18: Shamrock Shuck - This Oak City Brewing Company event is free to attend but oyster roast tickets must be purchased. There will be live music, bagpipes, green beer and three food trucks on site for those who aren't a fan of oysters.

March 19: Fall Out Boy - The concert features Jimmy Eat World, Hot Mulligan & Games We Play.

March 19: GLOWcon for Women - This women's networking event at The Fair Barn in Pittsboro is a day of fun, interactive personal development workshops, lunch, light shopping and more on the first day of spring.

March 19-24: Mrs. Doubtfire at DPAC - Everyone’s favorite Scottish nanny is headed to DPAC! Rob McClure will reprise his Tony-nominated Broadway performance on tour alongside co-star (and real wife!) Maggie Lakis.

March 21: Forest Bathing - Take a break from the daily stresses of work and life at N.C. State's JC Raulston Auditorium. This 2-hour guided, immersive Forest Bathing Experience encourages you to slow your pace, awaken your senses to the present moment, and experience a new way of being in nature. Cost is $40 per person.

March 21: Aaron Lewis - The artist comes to the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts.

March 22-23: NC Symphony: Stravinsky Rite of Spring - Celebrate spring with this event.

March 23-29

March 23: Raleigh Roasts - Explore the rich offerings of Raleigh's coffee roasters in Moore Square!

March 23: Marchtoberfest - Celebrate 8 years at the Clouds Brewing Taproom in Midtown Raleigh. Tickets are $12 and include a commemorative glass and one beer. There will be traditional German music, stein holding contests and more!

March 23: Triangle Heart Ball - Support the American Heart Association with this event at the Raleigh Convention Center.

March 23: Cars and Carnivores - This free street festival presented by Wake Forest Rotary Club will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Wake Forest. The day includes a steak cookoff competition, classic/modern car show, food and vendor booths.

March 23: 5K Beer Run - The fun starts at Mordecai Beverage Co. in Raleigh at 11 a.m.

March 23: Triangle LUNGe Forward 5K Run - Create hope and bring awareness to lung cancer and raise critical funds for lung cancer research and education at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary.

March 23: Halifax Storytelling Festival - This event at the Halifax County Agriculture Center features local, regional and nationally known storytellers, community resources, crafts and food vendors.

March 24: Mythical Menagerie: An Enchanted Circus Show - This show is at 7 p.m. at Motorco in Durham. You’ll be dazzled by the best circus and sideshow acts in the Triangle as they become unicorns, dragons, centaurs, mermaids - even the mighty kraken and the fiery phoenix! Performances include pole dance, burlesque, drag, belly dance, acrobatics, contortion, trapeze, hooping, juggling, LED spinning and more.

March 24: Triangle SpringFest - Celebrate spring in Moore Square with a family fun zone, DJ, free face painting, food trucks, vendors, shopping, food and more.

March 24: Chapel Hill-Carrboro CROP Hunger Walk - This local community fundraiser tackles food security in our area.

March 28: John Crist - The stand-up comedian comes to DPAC.

March 29: Avenged Sevenfold - The band comes to PNC Arena.

March 29: Chris D'Elia at DPAC - He has become one of the most in-demand performers in comedy.

March 30: World's Toughest Rodeo - Fans at PNC Arena can expect a trifecta of fun with action, entertainment and intense competition.

March 30 - Joe Satriani & Steve Vai - Two of rock music's biggest guitarists come to DPAC.

March 30: Harmony & Healing concert - This is a collaboration between Singers of New & Ancient Music (SONAM), Durham Medical Orchestra, and Duke Chorale. The evening will take you on a journey through the experiences of a cancer patient and other life-changing events.
