Four people were killed in a crash early Monday morning on Interstate 95 North, according to the NC State Highway Patrol.

At 2:39 a.m., a state trooper saw a Kia Soul traveling north on I-95 at the 91.5-mile marker in Johnston County. The trooper noticed the car was speeding and clocked it going 104 mph. The trooper attempted to catch up to the car but did not initiate a traffic stop or pursuit since the car was no longer in sight.

The driver attempted to exit the interstate at Brogden Road but ended up crashing into several trees near the exit ramp. The driver and front seat passenger were trapped in the car, and the back-seat passengers were ejected from the car. All four died.

The driver has been identified as 17-year-old Alan Lee Lockamy of Archer Lodge. Alan's grandmother, Kathy Lockamy, said he was a student at Smithfield-Selma High School.

Freddy Seras (17), Semaj Lejai Williams (16) and Christopher Wayne Jackson (17) were the others who died in the wreck.

"He was just a typical 17-year-old teenager," Kathy Lockamy said of Alan. "He had lots of friends, family that all loved him."

"He wasn’t supposed to be out," Kathy Lockamy said. "The last thing I told him before I went to bed was I loved him, and don’t leave the house. He didn’t listen very well."

After the wreckage was cleared, flowers were left at the site of the crash.
