31 elementary students involved in school bus accident in Clayton

A school bus has been involved in an accident on 603 North Fayetteville Street in Clayton.

The bus number was 170, according to the Public Information Officer, and the students were going to Cooper Academy.

There were multiple ambulance trucks on site. A person in their driveway reportedly backed into the bus.

According to officials, 31 children were on the bus. Of those students, 17 were checked out as a precaution. One student was transported, also as a precaution.

A number of children with backpacks were seen standing alongside the bus, before being led away in a single-file line. Officials said the students were walking to school, which was only half a block away.

Officials said 8-10 students were reporting minor injuries
