A woman died Sunday night after a crash in Rocky Mount.
Rocky Mount police said a 29-year-old woman died in the crash along U.S.-64 Alternate and Springfield Road involving two cars.
Police have not identified the woman killed as of Monday afternoon.
According to the police, the woman's 2-year-old son was in the car at the same time of the crash. Authorities took him to Vidant Hospital in Greenville.
Police said the driver of the second car was also taken to Vidant Hospital in Greenville.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation said U.S.-64 Alt was closed for hours in both directions near Springfield Road near Rocky Mount
The cause of the crash is unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
